Stamford Center for the Arts (SCA) is dedicated to serving as the region's premiere center for the performing arts. The Palace Theatre, a 1580-seat Thomas Lamb-designed vaudeville house, was acclaimed as "Connecticut's Most Magnificent" when it opened in 1927. It was restored and reopened in 1983 for live theatre, opera, dance and concerts. Additionally, art exhibits are displayed in the Sackler Gallery.
The Palace Theatre provides a performing space for The Ballet School of Stamford, Connecticut Ballet, DanceFest, Lumina String Quartet, Namaskaar Foundation, and Stamford Symphony Young Artists Philharmonic.
